JAAD Puppies

References from current puppy owners

Puppies are raised in our home and receive lots of love and attention from everyone who lives in (and visits) our home right from the day they are born. Puppies are sold to approved homes for a price of $1000 with a puppy package that includes:

* 2 year health guarantee
* A written sales contract
* CKC registration with a non-breeding contract (with tattoo identification)
* 6 weeks of complimentary pet insurance from PetSecure
* Puppy Information Binder (includes training information, feeding & grooming instructions, pedigree, DVD of pictures, etc.)
* 1st set of shots and deworming up to date
* One bag of food
* Life time support for any questions or concerns

We encourage our puppy buyers to maintain contact with us and supply us with feedback on the quality of the puppies we produce. This will aid us in our quest to continue breeding healthy, sound, intelligent goldens that will exemplify the breed standard.

Preference is always given to homes that train with positive reinforcement methods, will take puppy socialization classes, crate train, and have a fenced yard.

If you are interested in one of our puppies, our adoption process is as follows:

  1. We ask everyone to complete our questionnaire. From here, we would love to meet with you (and your family).
  2. Once approved for one of our puppies, we will add you to a waiting list or take a deposit on a puppy for a current litter. Deposits are only taken when we have a litter of pups on the ground.
  3. Sex preference will be given on a first come, first serve basis. The deposit ensures you get the gender of puppy you would prefer.
  4. Puppies will be chosen by us according to temperament and personality to ensure correct placement, this is done at 8 weeks of age. *see below*
  5. You are welcome and encouraged to come and visit the litter after they are 4 weeks of age on a regular basis. Please remember to call in advance to schedule a time or ask about our "open house" dates.
  6. We will be available to meet with you and/or answer any of your questions during any period before (and after) your puppy is born.

*We like to get to know our families (questionnaire and interviews) and will take all of your preferences - sex, coat colour, looks, personality, and what you hope to do with your golden into consideration when making our choice of which pup goes home with each family. Although it is easy to fall in love with a picture and we try to make sure that families go home with their top choice...we let everyone know that they need to have an open mind about it and usually ask them to pick a "top two".

When going over the pups, we take into consideration the personality, temperament, reaction to new rooms/items/sounds, the energy level (base it on what each family is looking to do with their dog ie walks, sports, camping/hiking trails/swimming/etc), how it gets along with it's siblings/adult dogs/us/strangers/strange dogs, and how much training and socialization the family is planning on doing, number of children and their age, and other pets is also a consideration for each pup.

We spend a lot of time with a litter of pups and get to know each of them very well!
