About Us
​Jaad began in 2005, sparked by my lifelong dream to breed Golden Retrievers. I'm Jen Manzer, and my journey started with my first Golden, Oribelle. From the time I was 14, I’ve been deeply passionate about this incredible breed—their beauty, intelligence, versatility, and loving temperament have always inspired me. With every litter, our goal remains the same: to honor and improve upon the breed we adore.

I’ve been fortunate to learn from experienced Golden Retriever breeders whose mentorship and wisdom have been invaluable. I believe there’s always more to learn, and I’m committed to continuously deepening my knowledge and improving in every aspect of responsible breeding.

Our dogs are more than companions—they're cherished members of our family and live in our home with us. Together, we enjoy a wide variety of activities like hiking, swimming, obedience and agility training, and participating in conformation shows.

I am a proud member in good standing with the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) since 2006. My background includes working in a veterinary clinic from 2012 to 2017, and from 2009 to 2017, I also worked alongside a professional dog behaviourist. During that time, I taught socialization classes and obedience training for puppies through to advanced levels. I now work full-time from home, which allows me to spend even more quality time with our dogs.

In 2015, I met my now-husband, Mike Hadden. He immediately joined JAAD Kennel and has been an invaluable part of the kennel (by "kennel" we mean our home LOL) ever since. Having had animals throughout his whole life, he enjoys being surrounded by so many loving and individually unique dogs, but also meeting new people and being a part of providing that same thing to other families. He is also a member in good standing of the CKC.
